The Written Examination consists of the following:

  1. Language Skills - Reading Comprehension
  2. Language Skills - Spelling
  3. Language Skills - Vocabulary
  4. Situation Reasoning � Inductive & Deductive Reasoning questions ask the candidate to draw inferences from general and specific statements.
  5. Situational Reasoning � Name & Number Accuracy; Accuracy matching names, addresses, vehicle identification numbers, etc.

    Pre-Service applicants (applicant’s that have completed or are currently enrolled in a Police Academy) are required to pass the Written Examination and Physical Agility.

    Lateral applicant’s (currently employed with a Police Agency) must pass the Physical Agility.

    Submitting an application does not guarantee participation in the next testing date as many dates are full weeks in advance.

    Applicants that do not pass the Physical Agility Test may retake the test each month for up to one year from the date of their written exam.
